David McGuiness is a mine of information on the subject of Scotland and very active within the independence grassroots movement.

David talks fluently about current affairs and historical points we all benefit from being aware of.

In Part 1 we covered a substantial and varied number of subjects to interest listeners including the Court of Session, Scots Law, the Claim of Right, sectarian events being orchestrated, Westminster throwing Scotland, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar under a bus, tax havens, the 6 square miles of the City of London, BBC Scotland getting worse and the alternative media in Scotland. We also discussed A Force For Good and how the SNP needs to step up to the front in organising events.

    All Hail to the Pod

In this episode of the Pod Jim Slaven sits down with the founders of the Time For Inclusive Education (TIE) Campaign, Jordan Daly and Liam Stevenson.

Time For Inclusive Education campaign around issues of LGBT visibility in the Scottish education system. Jordan and Liam discuss the origins of the campaign in the aftermath of the 2014 Scottish independence referendum and the tactics and strategies this grassroots campaign deployed. The TIE Campaign has been hugely successful and we explore what lessons might be learned for other campaigning groups. And as TIE makes the transformation from small campaigning group to registered charity providing services we discuss what this means for the future of the TIE campaign and the future of Scottish education

    The CommonWeal Podcast Replay #21

This week Lewis Akers and Craig Dalzell discuss Common Weal's latest campaign to launch a Green New Deal for Scotland.

They start by discussing recent events in Blackpool where fracking activities have been causing increasingly strong earthquakes and use that to discuss the economics of fracking and the state of the moratorium against the activity in Scotland.

From there they discuss Common Weal's upcoming blueprint for a Green New Deal and the need to "Escape and Repair". To escape the current systems - economic and political - which are destroying the planet and to start repairing them.

Finally, they discuss breaking news that PM Boris Johnson has ordered the suspension of the UK parliament and what that means for Brexit, Scotland, independence and the prospects of a Green New Deal.

David McGuiness interview fascinating Ray, didn't realise the Ministry of Food's wide ranging powers.
IndyPram - Ray
Same here Steve. I didn't realise that. Knowledge (or reminder of history) will be powerful if we get mass food reduction in favour of England.

Anon27691
Regarding what changes Scotland could make in Europe. The analogy is to look what the SNP have managed to change/influence in the UK since the people voted them into power.
PaulC
Do we want to lose a talent such as his to the private sector.
Anon27701
it's getting ridiculous watching the SNP work so hard for Scotland and work so hard to save the English from themselves
Anon27706
The lib dems are in the same EU parliament political party group that Guy Verhofstadt leads. He is bound to support them.
MikeF
From yesterday's great show by Jilly and Cactis - a question - Question? When you get a request - not on your playlist - do you consider adding it at all ... and how complicated is it to create the playlist in the first place?
PaulC
The lib dems are in the same EU parliament political party group that Guy Verhofstadt leads. He is bound to support them.

MikeF surely the plural of cactus is cacti
MikeF
@Paul ... excuse my sense of humour ... and got your show mentioned in a Livestream from the Fechan Bridge yesterday in a discussion with Peter from your Group.
PaulC
@MikeF Did you mean the English Scots for Yes show or my Gravity Waves Show (not sure what the relevance that show would have)?
MikeF
I was interviewing everyone on the Bridge ... Peter mentioned English for Yes .... I mentioned you ... and wanted also to PR IndyLive Radio (all the shows!) so used Gravity Waves in the obvious connection back to you - the Livestream is on I/L if you want to see it - the bit with Peter is near the beginning.mentioned
PaulC
